Design & marketing

Design and marketing are vital for creating cohesive brand identity and communicating effectively to target audiences. Good design enhances visual appeal that allows marketing strategies to reach potential customers and grow the business. At Talkiatry, I have been a part of both design and marketing teams to see a small psychiatry company in New York grow to 43 markets, becoming one of the largest psychiatry practices in the United States.

The need: Gain new patients in new markets across the U.S.

The challenge: psychiatry is a sensitive topic that many people don’t know much about

RESEARCH

To build an audience, you need to discover who is responding and how. We began with Miro boards full of ideas and gradually focused on plans through qualitative research to learn what potential patients want from a psychiatry company. We also talked to past patients, clinicians, and leaders to create the vision, mission, values, and visuals for the Talkiatry brand.

the brand

The new vision "Healthy minds, thriving lives" is to help people move from the complications of mental health (similar to the visually tight curves of the human brain) to a simple pathway towards care. With new content, a refreshed logo, updated fonts, and visuals, Talkiatry transformed from a small regional business into a national company that is ready to compete in the healthcare market.

UX/UI, WEBFLOW
& SEO

Talkiatry provides a service that includes an online assessment application to connect people with psychiatrists. The website serves as an entry point for this assessment. Our design and product teams created wireframes and prototypes in Figma for testing, while engineers built the app, and I focused on updating the website using Webflow. User experience and interface are crucial, and we know this is an ongoing process with constant updates and tests. The website includes landing pages for specific audiences, making content and layout vital for converting visitors to patients. I collaborated with the Director of Growth Marketing to optimize tags, meta descriptions, and other elements on our site. After two years of A/B testing to determine what’s gaining conversions, Talkiatry.com now ranks #1 in SEO for online psychiatry, attracting millions of site-visitors nationwide.

Marketing & animation

Each social media platform appeals to different audiences, with constant new trends that can make it hard to stand out, gain followers, and understand your audience. With the help of data analysis on platforms like Google, Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok, we have gained insights through our ad spending. This includes both brand-focused static ads and organic videos. With a background in video production, I recognized the importance of incorporating more animation into video ads. Using Premiere and After Effects, I have been creating more animated ads and improving my skills along the way. Continued testing and analysis has helped increase CVR while lowering CPA. As a result, Talkiatry has continued to gain new patients.

Adaptive growth

Talkiatry has quickly grown in just over two years. The staff has more than tripled to handle the surge of new patients. My key takeaway is that growth occurs in stages. As new patients arrive, more hires are made that introduce fresh ideas, leading us to pause, evaluate, and adapt our operations to grow together. Team growth also helps individuals learn new methods and applications. I appreciate experiencing this growth within a company, as it has stretched me to adapt to the changes that come.
